Get some nuts, you fool!
If that isn’t good old Mr. T! While I thought he was retired long time ago, AMV BBDO London managed to dig him up and put him in a new online campaign for Snickers. Not very spectacular, but it is fun to see that T still looks and behaves pretty much the same.
Hmmm, can’t say I agree. The attempt to fuse English sense of fair play with some retro ironic nostalgia for a member of the A-Team just doesn’t gel for me. Even a comedy soccer vs. football gag would have helped.
Who the hell is their target audience meant to be? Anyone relating to this is likely to expecting a pay off selling Marathons.
Even more amusing is the fact that they obviously couldn’t afford clearance for the music in the TV ad.
I have to agree with Dave on this one. Strangely enough, I’m old enough to remember Mr. T (it was back when Snickers was my candy bar of choice - so much that it was the name of one of our dogs), but the part I laughed at was the candy bar hitting the kid in the head, not so much the presence of Mr. T (sorry, T, you look great).
If I’m their target market (30′s), then they got my attention. I don’t eat too many candy bars anymore though.
