Avoid the flying plums
From France, a mini-site to promote Moneo, a card that allows you to pay fast small amounts of money. The site is called Evitez le prunes which literally means “avoid the plums” but probably in French has a wider meaning (any French speaking reader can help?).
As Moneo can be used to pay parking fees, the advergame challenges you to run as fast as possible to avoid being fined for not having paid the parking ticket.
Not very original, but nicely done and worth having a look at.
A “prune”, in French is a slang word for a parking ticket.
Hi,
Moneo is using an interesting wordplay for French drivers. A “prune”(plum) is a slang word to say that you got a penalty for parking without paying.
It is our national sport to park our cars without paying, but well that just because we never have coins or because we are to lazy to make the change…
Pejee
A “prune” is a slang word for “parking fee”. If you want to impress your French friends for dinner, you can also use “une contredanse”, “un P.V.”, “un papillon”…
Oh, and there’s a typo in your post, the name of the website is “Evitez les prunes”
To add a little context to your entry, I have to say that Moneo is a huge flop here in France. I don’t know if this advergame will change something about that…
Best,
A French reader
a prune is slang for parking ticket… makes sense doesn’t it. Ahhh the french sense of humour
Prunes/plums means fines in slang… which i reckon probably makes more sense for you now hehehe
In french “Ă©vitez les prunes” means “avoid car tickets”
Actually, “having a plum” in French means, getting a fine when you don’t pay your paking fees as in this website!
well, I think you’ll understand what is a “prune” in France, so I won’t have to precise it again
