Ikea, Wait until September
The Big Brother meets Ikea, but it has been done before. Warte bis September (Wait until September) is a website that streams 24h a day Nils, a young German who lives in an empty home waiting for the new Ikea catalog to be released in September. think iIt launched yesterday and, obviously, it will stay online until the catalog is out.
You can watch Jens living his daily life in his living room, meeting friends, playing videogames and, most of all, taking calls from those who watch him on the Web. This is his phone number if you want to give it a try: +49 40 22 61 11 61.
As said, the live streaming of someone locked in a room has been done already in 2007, it was called The Heidies, and it won a CyberLion. (actually, I did it when working in Diesel). It has been done also as a one man show, No Stop Fernando, and it also won a Lion in Cannes. So pardon me if I don’t get super-excited by Ikea’s idea.
This said, I still think it’s a good website. Because German consumers won’t necessarily know this has been done before, and it’s still a cool idea for a brand like Ikea; because the guy, Jens, keeps in touch with the public via Twitter; because you can also contact him through old-fashioned media like snail mail and phone; because you can embed the stream in your blog; and last but not least, because the world is full of voyeurs…
The agency is Nordpol.

Don’t know why you think, that his name is Jens. But his name is Nils (also shown in your second Screenshot)
By the way: Great idea from Nordpol and IKEA
The guy is called Nils and not Jens.
(See contact infos)
You are right, guys! I really don’t know why I called him Jens…
In Austria, the catalogue is already out… So, no need for voyeurism over here ; )
FYI You should allow users to mute this post, it is hard browsing through your other posts with the sound constantly streaming
