No Hunger
I like very much the communication approach from the guys at Shackleton. Even when they’ve been the Direct Agency of the Year in Cannes Festival for the last couple of years, they do not limit themselves to one field and cross from digital to traditional and vice versa in each and every one of their campaigns, doing very well the so-called integration, 360 or whatever you wanna name it. Some of them, also, are very funny, as for instance, the famous iJam as a gift for Christmas.
Their latest action is done for Accion contra el Hambre (Action against Hunger), an NGO dedicated to denounce the severe malnutrition of over 19 million infants all over the world, problem that should be solved with just 3 thousand million euros, no more.
And as after the massive exposure of his An inconvenient truth documentary Al Gore appears to be the go-to guy with this kind of social causes…
Why not asking him about making a new documentary? Denouncing this modern disease and avoiding that this problem remains hidden behind another news that fill all newspaper covers, such as economic crisis or US elections.
So that is the point about the site, central point of the campaign Ask Al Gore to make this movie (or Pideselo a Al Gore, in Spanish), where you can collaborate showing your support or signing the petition for this movie being done by Al Gore.
Direct Agency has certainly picked up on the fact that celebrity causes get the most attention and money. When you think about how much money was spent in all campaigns we just ran across the country and compare that to what is needed to feed our world’s children, it’s a bit disgusting, isn’t it? This campaign reminds us of the impact that powerful people can have on an issue. Even if it’s not Al Gore, let’s hope someone picks up and help Accin contra la hambre.
