Drag & drop shopping

If you are looking for some inspiration to build a cool e-shopping interface, you should definitely have a look at this Japanese website.

Hoop is a multi-brand online store that is trying to replicate digitally the gestures of offline shopping. You browse the racks like you would do in brick & mortar store, and when you decide to purchase something you simply drag and drop it from one rack to another.

The result is pretty cool if you are a shopping geek, but the “manual” browsing might result a bit complicated for unexperienced users. Good to see the website provides a series of navigation alternatives to make sure the shopping experience doesn’t generate frustration but rather excitement and, most of all, purchases.

I think this is a great strategy. Websites should be more like this, because more and more women are buying in the Internet and they would like to have a more funny experience doing it.

This site is great, but the load time takes a few seconds. The user experience can be challenging but I wonder how experience varies in different countries and cultures.
