Coca-Cola and the Recycling King
Facebook Places is supposed to be a great tool for retail marketing. But it can be also successfully used for social advertising, as a recent campaign by Coca-Cola in Israel clearly proves. The idea is pretty straightforward, and therefore smart. They tagged 10,000 marked recycling bins throughout the country, in order to make them check-in points, but also to allow people to easily find locations where they could recycle their plastic goods.
The person who recycled the most, was named “The Recycling King”.
It’s a lovely idea, isn’t it? Also, I find it pretty easy to replicate for similar initiatives. Food banks for example or collection points for old dresses and shoes.
If you like the idea of recycling Coca-Cola bottles and you need to buy some cool design chairs, you can buy the 111 Navy chair by Emeco, made out of 111 Coca-Cola recycled bottles. I just got it for my living room and I love it.
