Vintage Web: animated GIFs are the new Flash

I love the idea that in 2011 we are already seeing examples of “vintage Web”. Animated GIFs instead of Flash or videos for storytelling are a cool idea. Of course it poses quite a few challenges, and might not always work, but I still think it’s a pretty sweet path to follow if you want to add an “indie” touch to your brand or product.

This example of Tweason’Ale using animated GIFs to show the making-of a gluten-free beer made of strawberries is super nice.
