Seat Surprise Taxi Fare
I’m a big fan of experience marketing, and I especially like it when agencies add a touch of wit and sense of humor to it. This case study we received from Germany does a pretty good job in exposing people to a Seat technology without even getting close to a boring explanation of the technical details nor the a painful sales pitch focused on reduced consumption.
The “Brake Energy Recovery System” is one of Seat’s most innovative technologies. It collects energy usually lost when a car brakes and then uses this energy when it accelerates again. So instead of being wasted, this energy creates significant fuel savings, meaning that the cost of your drive decreases along the way. It’s like taking a cab and seeing your fare going down instead of going up while you go from point A to point B. And this is exactly what they did to explain the advantages
It’s the old show don’t tell approach and it seems to work quite well for those who experienced it live, but also for those, like us, who watch the video online, as it makes the explanation of the technology very tangible. I find the idea brilliant, but honestly the case study video is a bit disappointing, as the part with the Brit guy looks terribly staged (they should have checked out our guide on how to build a great case study!)
The agency is Grey.
