Maybe awards in 2008 will be given to those who try to change the online ad model to an opt-in approach. Take a look at www.prowebsurfer.com and what they are doing - replacing ads with images, including (bizarrely for some users) replacing ads they don't want with ads they do (especially vintage ads). Its the next step in user-generated content. Take a look and watch the awards next year.

3D games online (at least interactive) will dominate and it seems like so many digital videos (which are passive) will prevail as a format - nothing that suggest and understanding of web and "web2.0" seems to be in today's short listings! Oh well maybe next year - but can you imagine a blog winning an award at Cannes that cost only €0 to set it up and - some 6 figure for the creative idea!
