From Japan a fantastic stop-motion Happy New Year card from communication agency Elephant. Have a look, it's so cute! It also mixes the tilt shift photography technique.

Probably, in my position, I shouldn't say that it sounds cool, but it actually does, so to stick to my editorial line, I have to post about it. In February Adidas will launch five sneakers that will activate a virtual world through augmented reality.

As explained on Wired, all users have to do is go to the Adidas site and hold up their sneaker, which has a code embedded in its tongue, in front of their computer webcam. A virtual world then pops out in front of them and they can navigate it using their sneaker as a controller.

It is surely a marketing gimmick, and the world in a sneaker reminds me of Onitsuka Tiger but, still, it's a pretty cool initiative that will generate some buzz online, at least among us, geek bloggers :-)

Given the Holiday period is almost mandatory to post about Santa Claus and possibly from one of the countries where he possibly is from. So today we travel to Latvia, to discover a promotional website launched by Air Baltic to give away discounts in a nice way.

Visitors meet Santa Claus, have a quick talk with him, and are offered a 30 percent discount on their next flight with Air Baltic. The experience isn't particularly innovative but it's still nice and makes sense at this time of the year.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays dear Adverblog friends. As you might (!) have noticed we have almost disappeared during the month of December. We are very sorry about this. Probably it's a sign the digital business is very healthy. We had to work a lot (maybe too much) with almost no time to blog. This is very unhealthy for us and possibly also for you, so we promise to take better care of Adverblog and of you, super valuable readers, in the upcoming days, months and years.
