Understanding how online advertising works or how is our online privacy protected are some of the topics dissected in this SaulBass-style site called Privacy Matters, launched by IAB.
Rockmelt aims to become a "Social Browser" by integrating your social life directly into your web browser's interface to create one seamless experience no matter what website you are viewing. I'm not sure but check in and take a look.
That's so sad, yesterday Aegis announced that they were shutting down FarFar after ten years of an amazing journey with amazing projects. Looks like this video they made for their 10th anniversary works fine as the final tribute
Due to the way that clients conduct pitches in Belgium, some of the top agencies out there (enlisted at ACC) decided to close their websites, in some sort of virtual strike; you can start reading about the reasons by clicking here. Whether if you consider that the reasons are right or not, i love the fact of the oneness coming from this action, hope it is for good, good luck!
JWT's Ty Montague and Big Spaceship's Michael Lebowitz are co-chairing 2010 Andy Awards, and with those two places taken, the rest of them are going to be chosen by public ballot. Go visit the site and vote for 5 of the already nominees or nominate your own candidates. A lot of names up 'til know, many of them not coming from the ad world, might be interesting what the final result is gonna be.
You can also follow the twitter account or post under the #electthejury hashtag to get things going for all the people involved, good luck to all nominees :)

Maybe more for the media guys, but it's countless times that i have had some discussions with the media agencies that work for some of our clients over the way a campaign of ours is published. Today, while reading Techcrunch, i found this article called "Let's kill the CPM" by Shelby Bonnie, ex-CEO at CNET and now at Whiskey Media, about why he thinks the concept of CPM shouldn't be used anymore when selling a campaign. It raises some questions without giving specific answers, but i think is worth reading, at least sets the tone for a conversation on the subject, wheter you agree with him or not.
Looks like it's time for movies about advertising. After "Art & Copy" now here it comes "Lemonade" movie, a film about some advertising people losing their jobs in this global recession and how they've redirected their lives.
As for the trailer, they all look happier than when in advertising...
This week I am judging the D&AD; awards in London. I'll be regularly tweeting about this experience - and if you like it I'll do the same at Cannes in a few months time. twitter.com/issybella All the best sites and winners will be posted here (after I'm allowed to share them of course) ;-)

This year i'm part of the jury for 2009 One Show Interactive competition, so needless to say how happy and excited i am, looking forward to meet some old friends and meeting some new people that i admire and respect so much, to discuss some of the best works in the industry.
A couple of weeks ago i got an email from Kevin Swanepoel, President of the One Club organization about jurors blogging the process of voting from their personal point of view, so i liked the idea and after talking about that with Martina i thought that Adverblog would be a nice place to write about that rather than in a personal blog of mine.
Guessing some other people will write about that, i think i'll be just updating this post (so bookmark it or revisit it often if you're interested) or creating a couple more of them (i don't know yet, i think i'll discover as soon as i land in New York City in a couple of weeks), as well as posting things at Twitter under the #oneshow09 and #oneshow hashtags. Obviously, i won't be writing to trash anyone and not because i'm speaking about some project i liked means anything further than that. Oh, and also i was told not to reveal the winners either :)
Hey! happy new year everybody! Not about interactive itself but i found this interesting: Do you think that there should be a category awarding the best practices to make this world a better place? Then maybe you're interested in supporting this initiative called Humanitarian.
So, i guess this is my first post here, thanks Martina... and hi mom! :)
Not a project actually, but days after the launch of the very impressive Coke Zero Game my good friend Paulo found this really nice video about how's the life inside North Kingdom:
