Nike is all into celebrating the Year of the Horse. It shouldn’t be surprising, as Nike is all about speed. To mark the occasion, Nike will release the legendary Air Max 1, this time in the grey textured leather and suede, inspired by the shades horse hair. This special edition collection hits the stores on January 9, 2014 which is the date of Chinese New Year.

How unbelievably amazing this idea is? The Merit Shop offers goodies in exchange for your creativity. To win a Christmas Ball, for example, all you need to do is sing a song, draw something, or tell a joke and upload it en route of YouTube or Instagram. I can see many a charity using this form of exchange for their donations.

Some more news come from the Starbucks department. This time around, the initiatives comes from Switzerland, where Starbucks repurposed a double-decker car of a train servicing Geneva Airport. The challenge was not just to put a Starbucks counter in the train and call it a day; Starbucks in fact designed the entire car, together with the sound-proof floors, comfy seats, and a wooden bar. It’s a pretty great idea for commuters in need for coffee, which is practically everyone on the train.

Starbucks goes luxury, in partnership with Gilt Group. If it is possible to elevate coffee drinking experience associated with every urban corner to the level of something unique, exclusive and special, then Starbucks has done it. Ultra-limited edition of hand-made metal gift cards made in Rose Gold can be purchased at Starbucks at the hefty price of $450. Actually, it could have been purchased, as the entire edition of 1,000 cards is already sold out on Gilt.

What is a better way to promote Jay Z’s new perfume, Gold, than by turning passers-by reflections into liquid gold? The interactive installation, which uses Microsoft Kinect and facial recognition technology, currently resides in Macy’s at Herald Square, and it has a social sharing component, too. Users are invited to spread their reflections with their social graph via #JayZGold hashtag.
