Well, you know I love animated GIFs… This project by the young and talented Mike Guppy is brilliant. He removed the subjects of well-known paintings and replaced them with a “marching ants” outline. The effect is pretty impressive, looks like the paintings are coming to life. Read more…
I love the idea that in 2011 we are already seeing examples of “vintage Web”. Animated GIFs instead of Flash or videos for storytelling are a cool idea. Of course it poses quite a few challenges, and might not always work, but I still think it’s a pretty sweet path to follow if you want to add an “indie” touch to your brand or product.
