Nice viral marketing for Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel. I’m not a big sci-fi fan but I find it interesting that TED has become uber-mainstream and can now be used as a viral teaser for a blockbuster film.

In Japan Docomo is online with a new advergame to promote its Prime series of mobile phones, especially created for maximum enjoyment of video, games and other entertainment by people who love to explore the latest multimedia.
Of course given the language gap understanding how the game works is far from being simple. However I somehow managed to understand that after choosing a character you have to walk around the city to meet other groups of people and challenge them in quick and easy games.

A new report by Telephia says that entertainment applications are likely to help driving European mobile devices replacement. The press release explains the Telephia European Device Report, based on a survey of 27,000 mobile device users in six major Western European countries, reveals that currently 11 percent of European subscribers regularly use the camera feature on their phone, with another 27 percent interested in having it on their next device. Teenage subscribers (ages 15-17) lead the marketplace in camera adoption and interest, with 16 percent using camera and 47 percent desiring it on their next phone.
Charlie’s Angels will come back as a video game. Sony Corp.’s movie division on Monday said would release an online video game based on “Charlie’s Angels” to coincide with the new “Angels” movie which it is also releasing. It’s no doubt an interesting example of how the gaming industry might help reinforcing the marketing mix to support a new product launch. I’m not sure if this can be exactly defined as “advergame” but I thought it was worth posting anyway. You can watch a preview on Animated Angels.
