Volkswagen is online with a good branded entertainment project to introduce and promote its new Golf GT sport model. It’s a video adventure game, engaging and interactive enough to make people discover the car’s characteristics while having some fun. The agency it’s Tribal DDB Hamburg.
From JWT Frankfurt (via Ads of the World) a very “strong” campaign to promote Bayer Priorin, a product which increases the strenght of you hair. Tip: if you don’t get the ad, step back and watch it from a few steps away. I love the idea of an ad which challenges the perspective you look at things. It reminds a me somehow at the woman drawing often used in psichology.
Original concept and excellent execution for this campaign by H2e for the Bundesverband Tierschutz, a German association which fights for Animal Rights. Found on Brainstorm #9 where you can find more ads belonging to the same campaign.
Leif (thanks!) just sent me this guerrilla marketing campaign for Bild, a popular newspaper in Germany. During the German Art Directors Club awards show in Berlin last week, Jung von Matt Hamburg “decorated” the men’s toilets with a special mirror. While performing their physiological duties men could actually look at their best friend with a slogan below “Nothing’s harder than the truth”.
Integration. Integration. Integration. This is what interactive marketing is about: it helps you integrating different media channel. And any marketer should learn to take advantage of such opportunity. This SonyEricsson campaign probably doesn’t have the most original concept ever, but does an excellent job not only integrating channels (Internet, mobile and TV), but also putting the user at the center of the stage. Basically, what the German agency b+d new media has created is an interactive crossmedia videoclip contest for the new Sony Ericsson cell phone D750i. At www.d750i.com everybody can create his own 5 second video clip and shortly after the clips will run in German television on VIVA Plus (MTV network). All shown clips are published in galleries on contest site and weekly the best clips get rewarded by exclusive Sony Ericsson D750i cell phones.
Jung von Matt “Du bist Deutschland” campaign (You are Germany), to self-promote Germany among Germans.
In Germany Mentos is online with a funny advergame: the Sheep Volley! You can play & train or play to win, and in this case you need to register. You can also choose to challenge a friend, sharing the same keyboard.
In the first nine months of 2005 online advertising has reached a 279 million value in Germany. According to the numbers released last week by Nielsen Media Research, there has been a 36,3% increase since September 2004, with online and financial services as well as the automotive industry leading the expenditures. Despite the growth, Internet advertising is still very small if compared to traditional media. Since the beginning of the year, the investments in print, TV, radio and outdoor advertising have been worth over 13.3 billion euro. In the United Kingdom Internet advertising expenditure for the first half of 2005 reached £490.8 million, with a 5.8% market share which actually surpasses the outdoor’s (5.1%). According to a study by IAB/PwC online revenues increased by 62.3% on a like-for-like basis when compared to the same period in 2004.
Angela Merkel is the new Bundeskanzler… A revised soft drink ad shows her celebrating the victory with a passionate kiss to Mr Schroeder… (thanks Ralph!)
This is nice, an Absolut ad celebrating probably the most popular beer festival in the world: the Oktoberfest in Munich (Germany). The agency is TBWA/Berlin. It’s crazy, a vodka brand promoting beer! I love the idea of doing something unexpected!
