iMediaconnection features the transcript of the session of Delta Airlines case study presented at the summit last month. It should be an excellent example of winning integrated marketing strategy, developed by Starcom/IP and Modem Media. Actually the case is pretty long and exhausting. Probably the transcript takes less time to its author, but requires more time (and patience) from the reader, so I gave up reading it… Sorry, but today is Sunday, I’m taking it easy…
If you’re Italian, don’t get me wrong, “Amanti” it’s simply the name of a new large sedan by Kia Motors America. If you are not Italian, let me explain that “Amanti” in Italy means “lovers” and/or “mistresses”. Anyway, the news is that Kia Motors America will launch an integrated ad campaign for “Amanti”, taking advantage of Tv, print and the Internet. The story is published on BrandWeek, but no detail is reported about the online creative, so it’s just interesting to note that automakers now the Internet as a consistent part of their advertising mix. [30.12] update: I was wrong, you can actually find details on the online creative on IAR.
Buy a “Christmas” subway ticket, travel for free with your family throughout Milan, join an online competition branded “Lord of the Rings” and win a plane ticket to New Zealand. Sounds confusing? Probably… It’s an initiative promoted by Yahoo! in cooperation with Medusa (the movie distributor) and ATM, Milan’s Public Transport Company.
The Financial Times has launched a new English edition in Asia, with the goal of boosting its circulation and increasing the reach across the Asia region. Brand Republic reports that the strapline used in the marketing campaign is “Independent. Inspired. Indispensable.” The Financial Times now has dedicated editions, in print and online, for the UK, continental Europe, US and Asia.
Revolution Magazine reports that GlaxoSmithKline is launching a web site as part of an integrated campaign to promote its Lucozade Energy drink. The idea is to explain consumers how the drink can help them by increasing their focus and concentration. The Web site idea looks good to me, a part from the rather disgusting brain graphic in the bottom left side of the page. I wonder how this drawing will encourage people to drink Lucozade…
BMW is launching in Germany a new service dedicated to 7er owners: drive, surf the Web and find hotels and ATM machines thanks to a co-operation of Michelin. Of course it is suggested not to perform all these actions at the same time A part from jokes, I think it’s this is a good idea to build brand loyalty.
Mobile marketing is no more a huge question mark. Some years have passed and marketer have learnt important lesson on how to use it. Mobile marketing is now being integrated into longer term marketing strategies, and I’m sure Sue Norris’s article onRevolution Magazine will prove very useful to everyone who is interested in learning more about the possibilities offered by this tool. I’m just sorry that the article’s layout is not very usable even if you print it. The only solution is to cut & paste in a Word document and then to format it.
Online companies continue choosing the offline environment to promote their business. As BrandWeek reported, Hotels.com “breaks a national TV campaign that is meant to separate the online booking and destination site from both its Web and non-Internet competition“.
