Kondis is an Ikea application similar to Nike+. It keeps track of your runs and walks but most of all it tells you how many calories you still have to burn in order to eat your favorite cake. Forsman & Bodenfors are of course behind the iPhone app that I believe was launched in Sweden only with an hilarious video.
Virgin Atlantic has just released an iPhone application to help flyers who don’t like flying. The application presents the pretty well known “Flying without fear course” aimed at anxious flyers. It features a video explanation of the flight process, frequently asked questions, relaxation exercises and a fear attack button for emergencies with breathing exercises.
I find the app idea very nice and perfectly in line with the brand and the service you would expect from an airline company. However I’m doubtful about the fact of making consumers pay for this (€3.99) and I’m a bit disappointed by the visuals which look dull. Both aspects are rather unexpected from a pretty cool brand like Virgin and, while I can somehow understand the idea of paying for a value added service, I really don’t get why they didn’t dare a bit with the layouts.
If you’re based in the UK and you are always eager to find out new places to see and new things to do, MINI has the right tool to give you tips and inspiration. As part of the campaign to promote its convertible model the car brand has launched an iPhone application called Openness which encourages users to explore the unexplored and try new things.
The mechanism is pretty straightforward. Select your location, decide how much open-minded you are and then shake to be surprised by MINI. You might end up with a recommendation for a Body Detox Clinic or if you luckier you could receive directions to a Mexican wrestling match with fetish cabaret. Whatever the hint, rest assured the experience will be definitely off-beat. The agency behind it is Profero.
In the US Lexus has launched a digital lifestyle guide in cooperation with Urban Daddy, a website and email magazine dedicated to “what you need to know”.
Althought the idea of a lifestyle guide is definitely not new, I like the fact they’ve tried to make it a bit more personal and interactive, allowing people to find the right spots according to their entertainment needs.
I apologise, but I need again some space for self promotion… I’m very proud to share with you Nike Goal, an application for the iPhone that we at Nike Italy developed together with the Italian agency H-Art. Nike Goal has launched only seven days ago, with no press release, no promotion at all, but it’s already one of the most downloaded free applications on iTunes Apps Store Italia.
Nike Goal is an application that brings the world of Nikefootball.com live on your iPhone. It features live scores from the Serie A matches, highlighting the goals by Nike players and showing the boot they are wearing. On top of this, Nike Goal features also all the latest news about Nike products, players and stories. And this is just the beginning, we have a lot of ideas to make it richer, more interactive and fun to use!
