Wow. Or maybe, ouch. This TVC by Channel 4 to promote its coverage of the Paralympic Games might hit it like a punch in the stomach. It will give you goosebumps. I quote Slate Magazine that says it’s the most amazing Olympic video you’ll ever see. Must watch. Must share. Read more…
In the UK, the BBC has just released a commercial to promote its coverage of the upcoming London Olympics. The 60 seconds animated video, which shows the United Kingdom landscape transformed into a giant sport arena, is generating quite a lot of buzz online. The choice of creating an animation instead of filming real athletes is very much under discussion by the public and quite a lot of people don’t like the stylized cartoonish approach. Read more…
Finally LeBron… after 9 years The King has earned his ring and Nike Basketball celebrates him with a spot that looks like a short documentary and viceversa. The story of LeBron’s success is told through a jeweler who begins working on a championship ring when LeBron is a young phenom, crafts it over the highs and lows of LeBron’s first eight years in the league, and then finishes it just in time to be delivered for the 3-time MVP’s first championship. Goodby, Silverstein and Partners are back with a new “Got Milk?” campaign called ‘Science of Imitation Milk’. Well, actually more than a campaign to promote milk, it’s a campaign against imitation milk such as almond, soy and coconut milk, which is as interesting as controversial. It consists of two TVC and an interactive website where they educate the public about the ingredients of “imitation milk”. Read more…
DDB South Africa has created a beautiful one minute animation to take consumers through the world of Honda. From lawn mowers to motorcycles, cars and motorboats, the power of dreams unveils everywhere. Not sure if the video will accomplish the mission of opening the Honda brand world to the public, but it is definitely worth watching.
Messy desktop? Messy office? Your solution is one click away. Just activate the screensaver! Really nice idea and execution for this TVC by Argentinean agency David for Staples. I love when they use sense of humor to promote brands that ain’t so cool nor fancy. I think it really works, at least with me, to generate brand awareness. Read more…
This post if for the fans of big productions, and I know we are quite a few out there. Directed by Daniel Kleinman, the man behind several title sequences in James Bond movies, the new Intel global campaign make “everything else seems old-fashioned”. A spaghetti western and a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon style TVC prove once again that Intel, despite behind a product behind a product, is a pretty cool brand who works hard to keep such coolness alive & kicky. I know I’m a few months late with this brilliant TV campaign by Grey New York for DIRECTV, but since the latest commercial of the series has been released two days ago, I have a good excuse to share them all.
This is not a running commercial. The Chase is actually the latest Agent Provocateur video, quite different from the usual sexy sophisticated style. Read more…
I love the new global campaign for Axe Shower Gel created by BBH London. For once the usual sexist Axe approach (which, to be honest, sometimes I do find amusing) is replaced by the “celebration” of a new generation of boyfriends willing to do anything to please their girlfriends and conquer their hearts (yes, I’m being sarcastic). Of course the girls are portrayed in a stereotyped and extreme way (basically they are all rather bitchy in their own way) but I still think that, in the end the sense of humor in the five commercials prevails, and gives justice more to nowadays’ strong personality girls than to the Axe men.
