A new service from Colgate that puts Twitter to a completely new use; anonymously alerting people to food stuck in their teeth. Gotta love anonymous!!

This is a super clever way to use the potential power of social media for something good. Something truly good. I hope the Natalia Project gains worldwide recognition and wins a Nobel Prize. The objective of the Natalia Project is to provide human rights defenders at risk with a personal assault alarm in the shape of a heavy-duty wristband. It allows the bearer to send out a distress signal in case he or she gets into trouble. That signal triggers a series of events that all aim to alert key contacts and as many people as possible though Facebook and Twitter.

Every day, an endless stream of tweets enters the Twitterverse - some live on via retweets and favourites, others to fade into the dark depths of the web, never to be seen again. The more people will help raising awareness around HIV, the more condoms Durex will donate to charity associations around the world. The target to reach is 2.5M condoms to donate. A pretty high number, that becomes even more impressive if you think that it is the same number of people infected with HIV last year. Read more…
Even if I’m posting this on October 31st, this project hasn’t got much to do with Halloween night. However, the title of the post, couldn’t have been more appropriate. Yes, I’m presenting you an interactive box, a cookies distributor, that gets activated by a tweet. It’s a cool experience prototype created at the Umeå Institute of Design. Read more…
