Rexona stunts getting ready for new episode

A colleague passed me the link to this website. Do you remember Rexona and its Stunt City tv spot? I believe they are set to come back.. The Stunt Man asks you to crash a stunt all around the screen, once you’re done, it invites you to Action City (still under construction). Since the copyright at the bottom is Unilever, something is telling me (is it my female intuition? this is a teaser for next Rexona episode…

Magnum, 5 Senses worth £6.5m

Magnum 5 Senses ice-cream is currently being supported in the UK with a marketing campaign worth £6.5m. Unilever has decided to invest a lot in online marketing, asking MRM Partners to create an online competition to make ice-cream lovers happy. People collect barcodes on products and then go online trying to win a “sensory journey”or an iPod… On Digital Bulletin Oliver Rudgard, Magnum brand manager, said:

The online environment has played an essential role in creating a fun, yet highly effective platform for reaching and interacting with our target audience of 18- to 34-year-olds.

I don’t know, but the site just looks sad to me…

The Peperami Noodles Army for Unilever

AKQA has created an insane microsite for Unilever to promote its Peperami Noodles and virally push the new brand extension. Revolution Magazine highlights the innovative aspect of the campaign which features exclusive online video content. The videos present an unlikely Peperami Noodles Army in a series of apparently funny situations. I know the Italian sense of humour is not like the English one (as well as the idea of pasta , but I personally did not enjoy the site, which I found rather silly.

SpinAwards winners

The SpinAwards, the online advertising assigned in The Netherlands, have been announced last week. Emerce presents the winners’ list, with Unilever celebrated as the best online advertiser in 2003. Among the others, McDonald’s “I’m lovin’it” won as best online campaign, while M&M’s Film Buddy won the best banner prize assigned by the public.
